Kestrel and Red Tailed Cages
(Click on any image below to view full size)
Our
Director of Education, Bart Kotarba, and volunteers worked quite hard on
these cages. Bart wanted to add a touch of home for any resident
Kestrels so he painted a
forest edge scene with an actual telephone pole. (Due to health
problems we lost both our male Kestrels. At this time we have a female
Merlin, Mya residing in the
Kestrel cage.)

Winter
set in before we could finish the Red-tailed hawk side. Sierra
was moved into her new cage the Fall of 2004. Like the Kestrels'
enclosure it was made to look like an area where you could expect to find
Red-tailed hawks, a farm barnyard or field.
Doesn't look like much in the beginning.
