INTERN  LIFE

Free housing is provided and you are required to live there during your internship.  Accommodations include 4 bedrooms (2-4 people per room), two full bathrooms, living room, computer room, kitchen, and private deck.  There is enough space for up to 10 people which can seem cramped at times, but you live with like minded people so friendships are made fast.

Conveniently the living quarters are located above the working area of the center.  This benefits the animals and yourself.  During some nights you will be on call in case of late night feedings and emergencies.  Living right above also allows you the ability to wake up 10-15 minutes before heading down to work.

Minocqua is a tourist town so there are lots of things to do and see on your days off.  Downtown, with the public beach located nearby, is only a bike or car ride away.  Bike and hiking trails are found throughout the area.  The nearest grocery store is right across the street and the nearest laundromat is only a short walk from the center.  Occasionally special dinners for the interns are also offered.
