Here are some websites we have found useful
information on.*

longer exist.
animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/index.html
A database that covers a wide range of animal species, but heavy on
the mammals. It is best to type in the specific animal you are looking
for in their search engine since the taxonomy key is used throughout the site
and can be slightly confusing.
www.batcow.org/
Looking for information on bats or directions on how to build a bat
house. This website is specific to bats of Wisconsin, but also have
a great page listing other sites for bat information including the Bat
Conservation International website. The Bowmans are the founders of
the Bat Conservation of Wisconsin and are available for programs.
www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/
Cornell Lab of Ornithology's online birding guide. Gives basic
information on just about every bird and plus songs of individual
birds. Can also find info on attracting birds to your backyard,
latest happenings in the bird world, tips on buying binoculars and much
more.
www.isleroyalewolf.org/
Site to find information on the research being done on the wolf and
moose relationship on this island.
www.kidwings.com
A
site where you can virtually dissect an owl pellet, many different
types. Also pages on birds in general and under teacher materials
you can find informational coloring pages on some types of owls.
www.owlpages.com
Anything and everything about owls plus great pictures and recordings of
calls.
www.whatsthatbug.com
This is a great site to help id that insect that you have no idea what it
is. You can send a question and picture by email to these folks, but
they are often swamped with questions. Suggested you take a look at
their pictures (which are amazing) on the site first to id your bug.
Most pictures are close ups so you shouldn't have any problem
identifying. I have personally used this site quite a bit with great
success.
www.wolf.org
International Wolf Center. A lot of wolf information. Also
have a webcam of their captive pack.
