Fritz-Eastern Screech owl

Befriend Fritz!

Injury:  Nerve damage

Fritz is a Eastern Screech owl that was a transfer from another rehab center in Michigan.  When we received Fritz under first observation it seemed like he was fine.  He was overwintered at the Center and a release was planned in spring.  After more observation and a tentative release it was discovered he had nerve damage.  There are days where Fritz seems fine, but more days where flight just doesn't seem to work for him.  He officially became a resident in April 2008.

(We aren't sure if Fritz is a he or she.  The name was suggested by some of our very special younger members and we liked the name.)
